Craig Tharp

Glennis “Craig” Tharp passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10:30 PM at his home with his family around him. He was born on November 5, 1947. He was born the son of Glenn and Mildred (Funk) Tharp. On June 9, 1972, he married the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Murray. He was retired from a successful business he started in 1969, Tharp Tree Service which he enjoyed doing. Craig enjoyed the farms, fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. His family was everything to him. Those surviving who will cherish Craig’s memory, Patty, his wife of 48 years, a daughter, Buffy “Shawna” (Johnny Pate), his sons, Phillip Dale Tharp and Garrett Ray Tharp, three grandchildren, Amber Riddell, Phillip and William Tharp and eight great grandchildren, Houston, Chloi, Colt, Clover, Cherry, Ally, Alexis and Johnathon and many nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill and Becky Keeler and many friends. He is also survived by sisters, Debbie Tharp and Kimberly (Thomas) Lentz and a brother, Gregory Tharp and sister inlaw, Teresa Coyle and brother inlaw, Jimmy (Kathy) Murray, Jr.. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Glennis Craig Tharp II and a grandson, Michael Glen Austin Riddell. Family and friends may visit the family at the Ogle and Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, Ohio 45056 on October 2, 2020 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Reily, Ohio.
